Key Safety Practices
- Risk Assessment: All activities undergo thorough risk assessment before work commences. This includes evaluating chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
- Training and Competence: Every employee receives formal HSE induction training upon employment, followed by continuous, role-specific training to ensure competence. This includes asbestos awareness, first aid, fire safety, and use of safety equipment.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): We provide appropriate PPE (eye protection, safety footwear, hearing protection, gloves, respiratory protection) and enforce its use where hazards cannot be eliminated by other means.
- Incident Investigation: All incidents, accidents, and near misses are investigated thoroughly to identify root causes and implement corrective actions, preventing recurrence.
- Emergency Preparedness: Emergency procedures are established, communicated, and practiced for fire, chemical spills, and medical emergencies. First aid kits are maintained and readily accessible.
- Continuous Improvement: We set measurable HSE objectives and targets, regularly review our performance, and strive for continual improvement through audits, management reviews, and worker consultation.
Communication and Consultation
This policy is communicated to all employees during induction and displayed prominently in the workplace. We encourage worker participation and consultation in the development and operation of our HSE management system. We also share our HSE commitments with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, encouraging them to improve their own performance.
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary by VERITAS ENGINEERING LABS Ltd management.
